Today, dodd.blog had the privilege of being able to sit down and talk with professor Ditchfield from custard dream. Professor Ditchfield has been working on research into all things custard cream.

Hi Sam, you recently started a blog about custard creams. Can you tell us why you are so fascinated by them?
I am fascinated with custard creams because of their price and taste. Before university I had just thought of them as boring plain biscuits, but how wrong I was!!

How long have you been an admirer of the custard cream?
As I have said I have been a big admirer since probably the beginning of 2011. When I look back at 2011 I will look back with fond memories. It was the year I finally became a man.

What drink goes best with a custard cream?
Milk goes excellently, I have never tried them with flavoured milk, but I imagine they’d be nice. I have tried with vanilla flavoured protein shake. It wasn’t very nice. Other recommended drinks are tea, coffee and hot chocolate. But personally, for me, any drink just ruins the taste of the biscuit
Da Silva twins

Do you know if there are any celebrity custard cream fans?
I have been reliably informed Pete Doherty is a custard cream fan. Rumours are that the Da Silva twins are big ambassadors of a very similar biscuit called “el custardo creamo” back in Brazil.
Pete Doherty Biscuit Addiction

If there weren’t custard creams, which biscuit would be your biscuit of choice?
I recently dabbled in the dark side; I was doing bourbons behind custard creams back. Never again though. That shit sends you crazy. From now on its custard or nothing
